A member of the Zaporozhye Region Council named Vladimir Rogov revealed that the Zaporizhia region would join Russia and that Melitopol would serve as its interim capital.
Rogov continued, today, Friday, in a statement to the “Novosti” news agency: “The Zaporozhye area will be a province as a subject of the Russian Federation.
He clarified that Melitopol would serve as this province’s temporary capital, emphasising the importance of the word “temporarily” because Zaporozhye, the province’s regional hub, will once more serve as the province’s capital upon liberation.
The Ukrainian military continues to hold control of Zaporozhye.
Rogov: The Zaporozhye region’s temporary capital will be Melitopol once it joins the Russian Federation.
