British Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, visited Ukraine on Friday, where President Folodimir Zellinski met and announced new aid to the Ukrainians.
During his visit six days after British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak’s visit, Cleverly, especially Ukraine, announced 24 additional ambulances and three million pounds to help rebuild destroyed facilities.
Cleverly met the Ukrainian president and Foreign Minister Dmitro Coliba in Kyiv.
A statement by the British government quoted Cleverly as saying that “the United Kingdom is standing with Ukraine,” said Cleverly.
He added, “Today I announced a set of concrete measures to help our Ukrainian friends in their fighting, from ambulances to the decisive support of the survivors of the sexual violence committed by the Russian army,” without adding any details.
During his visit to Ukraine, Rishi Sonak announced a military aid of 50 million pounds (57.
4 million euros) and humanitarian aid of 16 million pounds (18. 3 million euros).
Military aid includes “125 anti -aircraft cannons and technology to address the deadly drones provided by Iran (to Moscow), including dozens of radars and electronic anti -aircraft equipment. ”
London, which is one of the largest supporters of Kyiv since the start of the Russian invasion in February, announced on Wednesday that helicopters were sent to support the Ukrainians.
Also, the United Kingdom has pledged to provide five million pounds for an initiative led by Ukraine through the United Nations World Food Program, in order to send Ukrainian pills to the risk of starvation such as Yemen and Sudan..
