The Assistant Secretary -General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States, Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, called for the necessity of solidarity to determine a commitment with the aim of eliminating violence against women, and to continue to create a societal momentum for the issue of violence against women in our Arab societies.
This came in a speech recorded at the opening of the international symposium on “the role of socialization institutions in preventing violence against women”, organized by the Ministry of Family, Women, Childhood and the Tunisian elderly today, Friday.
Abu Ghazala explained that on the occasion of “International Day against Violence against Women”, the headquarters of the League of Arab States was illuminated in orange, in solidarity with the international campaign “The World Orange”, stressing the unified Arab position to implement obligations and promote unified regional action to confront violence against women and girls.
