8 dead in a soil slide on an Italian island

“The search for missing and evacuations and assisting persons at risk is continuing,” the Civil Protection Department added on Twitter, noting that “the rescue efforts are still complicated by weather conditions.


Prime Minister Georgia Meloni continued the situation closely, as her office announced in a statement.
Casamecola Terme was subjected to an earthquake in 2017 in which two people were killed.
