Zelinski calls on the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe to expel Russia

Ukrainian President Foludmir Zellinski on Thursday called on the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe to expel Russia from its ranks, in a video intervention during a session at Warsaw held by the Parliamentary Council of this international organization.

Addressing the parliamentary delegations of the member states of the organization, Zellinski said: “We see many international platforms that find the necessary solutions to help stop terrorism Russia, isolate this terrorist state as possible, and search for a solution to the brutal global crises caused by Russia,” said Zellinski, addressing the parliamentary delegations of the member states of the organization.

The Ukrainian President asked: “Why is the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe not yet one of these platforms?
“Russia’s war against Ukraine is a test of any international organization,” Zelinski stressed.

And Poland, which holds the periodic presidency of the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe for the current year, recently announced its rejection of the participation of a Russian delegation in the work of the organization’s parliamentary council in Warsaw, as well as in the work of the Ministerial Council of the organization scheduled to be held in early December in Lods (center).
This delegation was supposed to head Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Moscow considered Warsaw’s decision “provocative and unprecedented”, noting that its delegation to the ministerial meeting will be headed by its ambassador to the organization Alexander Lukashivic.
The annual ministerial meeting of the Security and Cooperation Organization in Europe is the central body responsible for the decisions of this international body. Usually, Lavrov was heading his country’s delegation to this meeting.

On Wednesday, the European Parliament voted on a text that considered Russia a “sponsoring terrorist state” in its war on Ukraine, calling on the 27 countries of the European Union to follow its example..
