Communications Organization holds the first Egyptian Forum for “Internet of Things” services in the presence of 75 participants

The National Communications Regulatory Authority in cooperation with the Information Technology Industry Development Authority held the first Egyptian Forum for Internet of Things Services, in the presence of 75 participants representing 36 entities from the public sector, the private sector, the business sector, the scientific research, the major technology manufacturers and its operators, where the forum aims to enhance and spread the use of Internet of Things services In the Egyptian market, especially in national projects and smart systems in the development sectors of the country, this comes within the framework of the agency’s role in supporting the state’s strategies in the process of digital transformation and spreading modern technologies in various sectors and attracting and increasing investments in this field.

Participants discussed the latest developments in the Egyptian market regarding the services of the Internet of Things, on top of which was the device’s issuance of the organizational framework for Internet of Things services at the beginning of this year, and they also presented their visions and recommendations and discussed the challenges that impede the spread of the service, the proposals to encourage industry and prepare specialized technical cadres in the field of the Internet of Things In addition to encouraging small and medium companies to use modern technologies to develop and create technical solutions in all fields.

The work groups and mechanisms of the forum have been adopted that include two main axes, the first axis is concerned with securing data, developing organizational and legislative frameworks, spreading awareness and creating a favorable environment to qualify specialized human cadres, and the second axis is concerned with maximizing the benefit of the Internet of Things in services and public facilities such as the health, education, environment and transportation sector Tourism, energy, industry, agriculture, irrigation and smart cities.

The National Communications Regulatory Authority had issued the regulatory framework for providing the Internet of Things services in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which is one of the most important pillars of the fourth industrial revolution, as it allows the operation of smart city systems and digital services in the various sectors of the state such as smart buildings systems, smart meters and smart transportation.
