Britain’s Supreme Court refuses to attempted Scotland

British senior judges rejected an attempt by the Scottish government to bypass the British government, and to call for a second referendum on independence from the United Kingdom, thus thwarting the plan of national Prime Minister Nicolas St. St. to hold the referendum next year.
The Square Certified Certificate of Scotland asked the Supreme Court to evaluate whether the Scottish Parliament has the authority to issue unilateral legislation to conduct a consulting referendum.

The London -based court issued a ruling unanimously that the referendum should obtain the approval of the British government, as happened when Scotland held a referendum in 2014.
“The Scottish Parliament does not have the authority to issue legislation to hold a referendum on the independence of Scotland . . . and even if the referendum is without immediate legal results, it will constitute a political event that has important political consequences “.

This decision would constitute a relief source of British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak, who is trying to restore investor confidence in Britain..
