Tunisian Minister of Tourism, Mohamed Al -Moez Belhasin, gave this evening, Tuesday, the reference to the launch of the “Walking Road in Tunisia” project to diversify tourism products, in the presence of representatives of the European Union and the German embassy in Tunisia and the German Agency for International Cooperation “GIZ”.
The Tunisian Minister of Tourism stressed the importance of launching this project, which aims to strengthen and enhance the ministry’s orientation towards developing alternative and sustainable tourism, and within the framework of implementing a strategy to diversify tourism products and promote sustainable tourism.
He said that the “Walking Road in Tunisia” project will be implemented by the German International Cooperation Corporation in partnership with Leaders International and with the support of the “Sustainable Tourism Development in Tunisia” project – a joint work between the European Union and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) – in The framework of the “Tunisia destination” program.
He added that the ministry aspires through this project to develop long -distance walking paths, and improve the infrastructure of walking sites, noting that a marketing campaign will be implemented to promote walking paths and tourism products for such alternative activities and introduce them through digital applications..
