European Parliament Speaker Roberta Mitsola said that parliamentarians will cut their relations with officials and institutions in Iran in response to Tehran imposing a series of sanctions on members of Parliament.
“We will no longer deal with the Iranian authorities,” Mitsola added.
The violent response from the Iranian authorities caused the anti -government protesters in the European Union imposing a series of sanctions on Iran, which in turn imposed counter sanctions on European Parliament deputies, as some of them were prevented from visiting Iran.
“In response to unacceptable Iranian sanctions against this council, there will be no direct contact between the delegations and committees of the European Parliament with their Iranian counterparts until further notice.
”
“We will not ignore those looking for us in the streets of Iran. We are with you. We will remain with you,” she added..
