Today, in the flexible theater in the Bahrain National Theater at 7 pm, the capital, Manama, will host a group of Gulf and Arab poets, in cooperation between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council and University countries the two seas.

The twelfth edition of the Gulf Poetry Forum will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain based on the decision of the ministers of culture in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. The forum seeks to preserve the position of poetry in the Arab world, promote the Arabic language, and deepen the feeling of the status and role of poetry in the Gulf national culture.

In a gesture that aims to enhance the content of the forum and its Arabic mission, it was decided to host poets from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Morocco and Iraq.
The first poetic evening, which is run by Bahraini media poet Saleh Youssef, is presented by the poet Amal Al -Sahlawi from the United Arab Emirates, the poet Bruin Habib from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the poet Ali Saleh Al -Faouri from the Jordanian Hashemite and the poet Omar Al -Raji from the Kingdom of Morocco.

During the second evening run by Dr. Al -Shaar Fawaz Al -Shorouqi, the poems will deliver the poet Youssef Abdel Qader Al -Kamali from the Sultanate of Oman, the poet Mudar Al -Alusi from the Republic of Iraq, the poet Yusef Al -Shatti from the State of Kuwait and the two poets Hassan Abed and Ali the author from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
On the sidelines of the forum, the E -Learning Center hall at the University of Bahrain will host a critical symposium entitled “Contemporary Gulf Poetry . ..

Horizons and Vision”, on November 22, 2022 AD at 10 am. The symposium includes two sessions. The first deals with studies in contemporary Gulf poetry and is managed by Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Wesh, with the participation of Dr. Ibrahim Al -Saafin, Professor of Modern Criticism, a member of the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy, Dr. Saad Al -Bazei, Professor of Comparative Literature at King Saud University and media writing Dr. Bruin Habib.

As for the second session, it is celebrated by the Bahraini poet and theater writer Ali Al -Sharqawi, and is managed by Ghassan Al -Shihabi, with the participation of Dr. Diaa Al -Kaabi, associate professor in narratives and modern literary criticism. Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Bahrain.

This session sheds light on the literary works of the poet Al -Sharqawi, which is one of the most prominent contemporary Bahraini poets, and has various poetry collections, translated some of them for several foreign languages ​​and participated in many poetry festivals and literary conferences and harvested many medals and awards..
