Kazakhstan President Qassem Tokayev won the early presidential elections.
The Central Elections Committee in Kazakhstan said that President Qassem Gomart Tukayev won a second term in the early elections held on Sunday, according to preliminary data.
The committee indicated that Tokayev, 69, received 81. 31 percent of the vote.
Qasim Jomart Tukayev was adjacent to former Kazakhi President Nour Sultan Nazarbayev for twenty years.
Between 1999 and 2003 he became the first prime minister, to be later appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs until 2008.
He was also appointed twice as Speaker of the Cosmetic Senate.
When Nazarbayev decided to step down in 2019, Tukayev found himself temporary president until he was elected president in 2020.
His recent statements by “shooting with the aim of killing” sparked demonstrators in the protests that erupted at the beginning of 2022, a wave of international criticism.
He graduated from the Moscow Governmental Institute for International Relations (1975), the diplomatic academy at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1992).
Doctorate in Historical Sciences, the title of the thesis: “Asia and the Pacific Ocean in the foreign policy of Kazakhstan” (1998). Doctorate in Political Science, theme of thesis: the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in forming a new world order (2001).
He speaks Kazakh, Russian, English, Chinese and French..
