German Defense Minister: The German army is forced to accelerate the purchases

German Defense Secretary, Christina Lambrcht, stated that the German army resorted to exceptions in European law to grant bids to accelerate the management of its equipment.
The minister said in statements to the German newspaper “Reniche Post” issued on Monday: “We must be faster in purchase . . . . Buy more than what is available in the market and is guaranteed by our partners, instead of developing special solutions with a golden frame for years.

Therefore, we are now using exceptions From the European Public Bidding Law . . . In addition, it is now possible to dispose of freely with regard to requests worth less than 5 thousand euros, i. e. without a long -time tender, “explaining that this constitutes 20% of all requests from the German army’s purchasing office in Coblents.
“100 billion euros alone will not meet things,” Lambrast said.

It is noteworthy that the Federal Parliament (Bondstag) and the Council of State (Bondraz) decided to respond to the Russian war against Ukraine, launching a special program worth 100 billion euros to equip the German armed forces. Money will be used to buy new planes, helicopters, ships, tanks and ammunition in the coming years..
