The public prosecutor in charge of the initial investigation that was conducted in Sweden announced that the bombings that struck the two gas pipelines “Nord Stream 1 and 2” in the Baltic Sea last September took place in the framework of sabotage.

“The analyzes that were conducted show the remains of explosives on a number of strange bodies discovered,” said Prosecutor Mats Lyongkvist, who is in charge of the initial investigation that was opened in a huge gas leakage from the pipeline linking Russia to Germany.
He added in a conference today, Friday, that “the continuation of the initial investigation will be allowed to know whether anyone can be pursued for a crime.

At the end of September, four gas leakage sites were monitored on gas pipelines, all in international waters. But two of them are located in the Swedish Economic Zone and two in the Denmark region.
Investigators said that the initial underwater inspections have strengthened doubts about sabotage, because explosions preceded the leakage.

At the end of October, the Nord Stream consortium, in which the Russian contributor is the largest contributor to the Russian flag to conduct an inspection in the Swedish region.
In November, we were allowed in November to inspect gas pipelines in the Danish region, where another is being achieved..
