Senegal officially announces the exclusion of Mane from the World Cup

Senegal announced that Sadio Mane, the captain of the team, will be absent from the 2022 World Cup finals to be held in Qatar, due to the injury, as it has lost the “Black Teranga” officials hope to recover the Bayern Munich star in the coming days.

Although Bayern Munich’s medical staff revealed that the injury may keep Mane from participating in the World Cup in Qatar, which is scheduled to be held during the period from next Sunday until December 18, Aleo Cisse, the Senegalese coach, included the player to the final list at first.
Senegalese Fatima Samura, Secretary -General of the International Football Association “FIFA”, revealed earlier that Senegal would do everything in her power to catch Mane in the World Cup.

The Senegalese Football Association admitted last Tuesday that Mane will not catch up with the national team against the Netherlands in the opening of its matches in the tournament.
But Manuel Avonso, the Senegalese national team doctor, stated at a press conference today, “Unfortunately, medical examinations today showed us that improving Mane’s condition was not as we expected, and unfortunately we will have to exclude the player from the list participating in the World Cup.

The Senegal team, winner of the African Nations Cup, will open its matches in the World Cup against the Netherlands on Monday at Al -Thumama Stadium.
