Novak: Signing a new gas agreement with China and adopting national currencies in commercial settlements

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that Moscow and Beijing will soon sign a government agreement on natural gas supplies from Russia to China via the Far East Road.
The Russian official said in a television interview today, Friday, after the meeting of the Russian -Chinese government committee: International governmental agreement on this project.


The Russian Deputy Prime Minister indicated that the volume of trade exchange between Russia and China in the energy sector increased by 64% from the cash aspect and 10% from the financial point of view.
Regarding the trade between Russia and China, Novak said that Moscow and Beijing are turning into settlements in national currencies in energy supplies, and that the ruble and yuan are already used in gas payments.

Novak also added that the payments of oil supplies and oil products are quickly transferred to the national currencies of Russia and China.
