Josep Borrell, President of the European Union diplomacy, said in an interview today, Friday, that the European Union is investing in Central Asian countries more than Russia and China. Borrell stressed that the European Union is the largest investor in Central Asia, and over a period of 10 years the European Union countries have invested more than 105 billion euros in the region, which exceeds 40 % of the total foreign investment volume in Central Asia.
“Undoubtedly, we are the largest investor in Central Asia,” Borrell, who is participating today in Samarkand at an international conference on the interconnection between the European Union and Central Asia.
The head of European diplomacy pointed out that the European Union is ready to support Central Asia in providing access to global internet through satellite communications, water and energy resources management, as well as building the green economy..
