The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said today, Friday, that it is aware that a driver hovering over a ship in the Gulf of Amman this morning, about 50 naval miles southwest of Muscat.
The authority added on its website that the ship and its crew are fine.

An attack on an oil tanker fell off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday, the US Central Command said that it was carried out using an Iranian -made driver, adding that a multilateral naval operation led by a frigate from the British Royal Navy dealt with the situation in the region.
An Israeli official blamed Iran for the attack on the tanker “Zercon Pacific”, which is occupied by the “Eston Pacific Shipping” company, with the Israeli administration.

The company said that the attack caused slight damage to the carrier’s body without any injuries or leakage of diesel.
A White House official said earlier that Washington “is sure that Iran was probably launched” the strike using a drone.
In the past few years, the Gulf waters have witnessed attacks on carriers, at a time when tension has exacerbated Iran.
