Liverpool striker Fabio Carvalho chose to stop representing Portugal for the U -21 youth team, hoping to turn to the English national team in the future.
Carvalio participated in 11 Premier League matches this season with Liverpool and scored two goals, after participating in the various Sunni groups with the junior teams in England.
Carvalio participated in six games with the England U -18 team, between 2019 and 2020.
Carvalio has not yet participated at the level of the first team, and thus decided to retract the representation of Portugal, the country in which he was born, in the hope of representing the England team in the future.
A statement by the Portuguese Football Association stated: “Fabio Carvalio told the Portuguese Football Association through some text messages that it does not intend to continue to represent the Portuguese youth team under 21 years.
”
The statement added: “This decision by the player was reported after announcing the list of players for the two friendly matches against the Czech and Japan. “.
