Russian missiles cross into NATO member Poland, killing 2

A senior US intelligence official says Russian missiles crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people.
Polish government spokesman Piotr Mueller did not immediately confirm the information, but said top leaders were holding an emergency meeting due to a “crisis situation”.
Polish media reported that two people died Tuesday afternoon (local time) after a projectile struck an area where grain was drying in Przewodów, a Polish village near the border with Ukraine.

US Department of Defence press secretary Brig Gen Patrick Ryder said it has no information at this stage to corroborate the reports but said they are “taking them seriously and looking into them”.
“I don’t want to speculate or get into hypotheticals. When it comes to our security commitments and Article 5, we’ve been crystal-clear that we will defend every inch of NATO territory.

Estonia’s defence ministry has called the news out of Poland most concerning and said it is ready to defend every inch of NATO territory.
Hungary meanwhile has convened its defence council.
Neighbouring Moldova was also affected. It reported massive power outages after the strikes knocked out a key power line that supplies the small nation, an official said.
