Khatami stressed the importance of “acknowledging the rights of the people and respecting basic freedoms, especially the exercise of citizenship rights because the people are from the directions, nationalities and even different religions. ”
He praised that “despite the attempts of the outside, the protest did not take a national, religious, or separatist dimension. “.
