Jordan and Israel have signed intentions to rehabilitate and improve the environment and water system for the Jordan River and the Dead Sea.

The announcement of the intentions signed by the Jordanian side, the Minister of Water and Irrigation, Muhammad al -Najjar, and on the Israeli side, the Minister of Environmental Protection, Tamar Zandberg.

The signature comes – according to the statement of the Jordanian Ministry of Mile and Irrigation – to declare intentions with the aim of seeking to rehabilitate the Jordan River, which has decreased the level of its flow to 7 percent, and the consequent decrease in the level of the Dead Sea 3 feet annually; Which Jordan has sought hard for years to work hard and mobilize the support of the international community to seek to save the Dead Sea, which represents a joint inheritance of humanity.

The declaration of intentions also comes within the framework of Jordan’s endeavor to mobilize the support of the international community to address climate challenges and rehabilitate the environment and sustainable development of the Jordan and Dead Sea River, as well as create job opportunities that are reflected in improving the quality of life and providing more water for residents on the banks of the Jordan River, including Palestinians..
