Israeli officials: Iran is responsible for targeting the Oman Sea carrier

Senior Israeli security officials blamed Iran for an attack targeting an oil tanker off the coast of Oman, who was attacked by a car bomb.
The officials indicated that the attack is a strategic mistake by Tehran, and an attempt to provoke the West before the World Cup matches in Qatar, according to the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz”.
They also added that the driving plane that was used to attack the carrier was of the same type as Iran previously sold to Russia.

According to the preliminary estimates of the officials, the damage to the ship was relatively light, stressing that there were no Israelis on the carrier, according to the newspaper.
A defensive official in the Middle East, provided that his identity was not disclosed, confirmed that the attack took place yesterday evening off the coast of Amman, according to the “Associated Press” agency.

He also explained that the ship carries the flag of Liberia and in the name of “Pacific Zercon”, adding that the company “Istren Basifik Shipping”, based in Singapore, is occupied, while the ownership of the mentioned company is due to the Israeli rich, Adan Ofer.

For its part, the company that owns the “Pacific Zercon” announced that the ship was carrying gas oil, and it was slightly damaged in its structure without leaking the shipment or injuries among the crew members
It is noteworthy that a Japanese ship run by Zodiac Maritime, owned by Israeli businessman Eyal Ofer, was attacked last year off the coast of Oman, killing two people.
Israeli sources believe that a drone has been used in the attack..
