Fifth Fleet: We are ready to face Iran’s threats to the region

The US Navy Fifth Fleet spokesman, Tim Hawkins, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the United States is ready to face Iranian threats to the region.
He added during an interview with “Al -Arabiya” that the United States is committed to maintaining the security of the Hormuz Strait and Mandape.
He also explained that the participation of information that is done with partners is building confidence and strengthening relationships.

The statements of the Fifth Fleet spokesman after the United States condemned, on Wednesday, the attack on an oil tanker off the coast of Oman the previous day, accusing Iran of its implementation, in a statement issued by the National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan.

“After reviewing the available information, we are sure that Iran is likely to have carried out this attack using a running, a fatal weapon that it uses increasingly and through its customers throughout the Middle East, and transferring it to Russia to use it in Ukraine,” Sullivan said.
The statements of the US National Security Adviser came after senior Israeli security officials blamed Iran for an attack targeting an oil tanker off the coast of Oman, with a car bombs.

They considered that this attack is a strategic mistake by Tehran, and an attempt to provoke the West before the World Cup matches in Qatar, according to the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz”.
They also added that the driving plane that was used to attack the carrier was of the same type as Iran previously sold to Russia.
According to the initial estimates of officials, the damage to the ship was relatively light, stressing that there were no Israelis on board.

A defensive official in the Middle East confirmed that the attack took place yesterday evening off the coast of Amman. He explained that the ship carries the flag of Liberia, and in the name of “Pacific Zercon”, adding that the company “Istren Basifik Shipping”, based in Singapore, is occupying it, while the ownership of the mentioned company is due to the Israeli rich, Adan Ofer.

For its part, the company that owns the “Pacific Zercon” announced that the ship was carrying gas oil, and was slightly damaged in its structure without leaking the shipment or injuries between the crew members, according to the “Associated Press” agency..
