Extension of the Ukrainian grain export agreement “in accordance with the current provisions”

“The agreement will remain valid in accordance with the current provisions for a period of four months,” said the official, who asked not to be named.
For his part, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Olksander Cubrakov said on Thursday that the agreement of grain export in the Black Sea that was reached in July will extend another 120 days.
“The Black Sea Pills Initiative will be extended 120 days,” Coprakov wrote on Twitter.

He described this as “another important step in the global battle against the (global) food crisis,” according to Reuters.
The Cereal Export Agreement, which Ukraine and Russia reached under the auspices of the United Nations and Turkey, and its duration ended on Friday evening, allowed the removal of more than 11 million tons of grains from Ukrainian ports within four months.
A major part of the July Agreement is to facilitate Russian grain and fertilizer exports.

The United Nations says that Russian grain exports have increased, but this work must be done to reduce the severe impact of Western sanctions on Russian fertilizer exports.
The agreement helped to avoid a global food crisis by allowing the export of food and fertilizers from many Ukraine ports overlooking the Black Sea, which was closed by Russia..
