The Energy and Climate Commissioner of the European Union, Cadre Simson, confirmed Egypt’s ability to produce green hydrogen and export it to the countries of the whole world, explaining that Egypt has a huge renewable energy of wind and solar energy so it can produce green hydrogen, and it can export it to all countries of the world.

Simson – in a speech during the activities of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) currently in Sharm El -Sheikh – expressed her deep thanks to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Engineer Tariq Al -Mulla for his continuous support to the European Union in the issue of climate change.

The European official pointed to the role played by the European Union in the field of transforming energy systems based on climate goals, implementing all the outputs of the Paris Agreement and reducing dependence on fossil fuels against the background of the energy crisis resulting from the Russian war on Ukraine.

Simson added that the European Union can import green hydrogen from all the countries that produce it, including Egypt, stressing at the same time that the Sharm El Sheikh conference is one of the signs that emphasizes the importance of partnership with Egypt in the field of renewable energy in order to combat the repercussions of climate change, pointing to The presence of tremendous possibilities to enhance the transformation of energy in the region.

The Energy and Climate Commissioner of the European Union stressed the importance of partnership with Egypt in the field of renewable energy in order to provide it in the Mediterranean region, stressing the need to work to reach the infrastructure of hydrogen and provide the necessary funding for its production, which contributes to the existence of a global framework for the hydrogen market..
