Al-Madinah News:- A Chinese intelligence agent was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the United States, on Wednesday; To try to steal technology from American and French airlines.
Shaw Yangon was accused of playing a leadership role in a five -year -backed plan from the Chinese state to steal commercial secrets from airlines, most notably “General Electric Aviation”, a pioneer in the manufacture of aircraft engines in the world, and the French “Safran” group, which worked with the first company to develop engine.
Shu was one of 11 Chinese citizens, including an intelligence officer, and their names were received in October 2018 with indictment in a federal court in Sensinati, Ohio, where the “General Electric Aviation” headquarters.
He was arrested in April 2018 in Belgium, where he was apparently lured for an intelligence, as he was planning to meet a “General Electric” employee in secret.
He was handed over to the United States, where he was tried, and was convicted in a trial before a jury on November 5, 2021; On charges of attempting to spy economic, trying to steal commercial secrets, and I am accused of conspiracy to the file.
The Ministry of Justice said in a statement.
“This issue sends a clear message: we will be held accountable for anyone trying to steal American businesses,” said Federal Prosecutor in Ohio Kenneth Parker.
