Abu Mazen chairs a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization

The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization held a meeting chaired by President Mahmoud Abbas, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.
Abu Mazen – at the beginning of the meeting – stressed that the declaration of independence that coincides with today, which was announced by the martyr symbol Yasser Arafat in the National Council in 1988, defined the nature of the State of Palestine as a democratic state with Jerusalem as its capital and the right to return refugees.

The Palestinian President saluted the martyrs of the Palestinian people, to the heroic prisoners, behind the bars of the occupation cells and to the wounded, and all the Palestinian people in the homeland and in all camps of asylum and diaspora, and in the Gaza Strip and to the people of Palestine steadfast in their eternal capital, “Jerusalem”.

The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization affirmed its rejection of the organization and the creation of alternative entities for it, and condemned the moves aimed at prejudice the legitimacy of the organization, which is called by parties that do not believe in the organization but rather to undermine it.

The Executive Committee went to the salute to the martyr Yasser Arafat, confirming the continuation of efforts at all internal, regional and international levels to follow up on the reunion of all Palestinian factions, to implement the steps to end the division and restore national unity in light of the risks and challenges facing the Palestinian issue.

The Executive Committee went to the salute to all the countries that voted in the Fourth United Nations Committee to demand the International Court of Justice to issue a legal fatwa and an advisory position on what the occupation is and its escalating crimes against the Palestinian people, and to impose a boycott and a trial on the occupation to cut the path to continue its crimes and its ongoing aggression.
