A noticeable decline in fertilizer exports from Russia due to sanctions

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister indicated that the sanctions imposed on Russia led to a decrease in the exports of Russian fertilizers from March from September from 2022 by 38% compared to the same period from 2021.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Farsenin said that the anti -Russian sanctions led to the decline in fertilizer exports, as consumers received less than 8 million tons of exports of these products.

Farsinin added that the amounts of exported fertilizers are sufficient to produce 25 million tons of food or feed 105 million people, indicating that the restrictions imposed on Moscow contribute to a food crisis in the world.

The Russian official stressed that although the United States and the European Union announced the removal of Russian agricultural products, including fertilizers, from the sanctions list, Russian producers and suppliers are still facing the effect of excessive compliance with restrictions, specifically with regard to insurance, shipping and banking transactions.
