Mr. Al -Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Reclamation, met with Ambassador Joseva Saco, the Agricultural Commissioner of the African Union, on the sidelines of the COP 27 climate conference in Sharm El -Sheikh, and in light of the presidency of the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture of the Specialized Agricultural Technical Committee of the African Union.
The Minister of Agriculture welcomed the presence of “Saco” on the day of agriculture and food and delivered a speech at the ministerial session from Malabo to Sharm El -Sheikh, representing the African Union, where he discussed with it the committee’s work plan during the coming period.
He pointed out that the Egyptian state does not hesitate to provide all support to the brothers from the countries of the African continent, stressing the depth of the historical Egyptian -African relations.
For its part, the African Union Agricultural Commissioner expressed its gratitude for the attendance of the activities of the COP 27 climate conference, especially the day of adaptation and agriculture, thanking the Egyptian government for its wonderful organization of this great conference.
She pointed out that this conference represents its great transfer to Africa, stressing the possibility of working together during the coming period to achieve African food security.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of holding a number of meetings for the aforementioned technical committee’s office, whether it is present or via video technology, at the end of this month, and after the completion of the climate conference activities in order to develop a plan and mechanism for the work of the specialized agricultural technical committee..
