The spokesman for the General Administration of the National Guard – in a statement – said that in the context of confronting the phenomenon of illegal immigration, the units of the naval region in the coast thwarted six attempts to cross the maritime border surreptitiously, and managed to help and save 39 Tunisian immigrants, and to seize five marine boats and three engines.
The spokesman added that in the context of pre -emptive operations, the guards operating units in Nabeul and Autic regions managed to seize seven people, including five while preparing to carry out the cross -border crossing operations, and two people who were arrested inside a workshop prepared for making marine boats without a license..
