The US Navy seizes an Iranian shipment that contains explosive materials heading towards Yemen

The US Navy announced that it had intercepted a huge Iranian shipment of explosive materials heading to Yemen last week in the international waters of the Gulf of Oman.
She explained in a statement posted on her Twitter account today, Tuesday, that she was able to seize 70 tons of missile fuel, in a boat from Iran to the Yemeni beaches.
She also added that this smuggled fuel is sufficient for 10 ballistic missiles, and drew attention to finding more than 100 tons of explosive compost.

She also made it clear that the ship and the four members of its Yemeni crew were intercepted while crossing from Iran, along a road that is historically used to smuggle weapons to the Houthi militia.
To this, she stressed that the smuggling acts carried out by Tehran are dangerous and irresponsible, stressing: “The direct or indirect supply of weapons, their sale, or their transmission and smuggling to the Houthi militia violates UN Security Council Resolution 2216 and international law.

For his part, the commander of the US Central Command (Centcom), General Michael Erik Corella, confirmed that his country is committed to its partners with the security and stability of the region, and deterred the flow of illegal and destabilizing weapons to the region by land, air and sea.

It is noteworthy that the fifth American fleet was issued last January 40 tons of the explosive “urea” fertilizer when it intercepted the USS Cole (DDG 67) and the coastal ship (PC 9), another fishing vessel in the Gulf of Oman, which tried to smuggle it to Yemen.
Tehran often tries to smuggle weapons to the Houthi militia, which supports it by land and sea, while the joint forces (American and Arab) are confronting those attempts that extend the conflict in Yemen..
