Al-Madinah News:- The details of the recent discussions that brought together National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and President Vladimir Zellinski are still revealing successively through the statements of officials who reviewed what was talked about behind the scenes.
Today, the Wall Street Journal, quoting diplomats that Sullivan, during his last meeting with Zelinski, suggested that he think about “realistic” negotiating positions.
The sources indicated that Washington called on Kyiv to open up to the idea of negotiations.
Two European diplomats informed on these discussions stated that Sullivan advised the Zellinski team to think about realistic demands and give priority to negotiations, including reconsidering its stated goal . . . which is to restore control of the Crimea.
It is noteworthy that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced yesterday that Kyiv has the opportunity to make a decision on the timing and content of its negotiations with the Russian side.
The US State Department said in its statement: “The Foreign Minister reaffirmed that the date and content of any talks remains Ukraine’s decision. ”
