The Supreme Council of State in Libya: Dubai militias prevented us from holding our session

The Supreme Council of State in Libya said today, Monday, that militias affiliated with the government of Abdel Hamid Al -Dubba prevented its members from holding a session dedicated to discussing sovereign positions and executive authority.

The Supreme State published pictures of military vehicles in front of the entrance to the hotel, which would have embraced his session in the capital, Tripoli, who said that it belongs to the Dubai government and prevented its members from joining the meeting hall.
The session, which was held by the State Council today, will be devoted to listening to the report of the Council’s sovereign positions, and discussing the mechanisms of unifying the executive authority.

The State Council lives in contradiction and division in the positions of its members on the issue of changing the executive authority and the file of sovereign positions, between an incision that calls for the proceeding of these two files in agreement with Parliament, and another party demanding the approval of the constitutional rule before that.

These security developments in the capital, Tripoli, come hours after the leak of registration attributed to the President of the Supreme Council of State Khaled Al -Mashri, in which he talked about a political deal between him and the Speaker of Parliament Aqila Saleh, to change the Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority in exchange for agreeing to overthrow the head of the Supreme Elections Authority.

Al -Mashri indicated in the registration that was widely circulated on social media and was not confirmed by his authenticity, that Aqila Saleh considered that administrative control has wide powers to confront the government of the outgoing national unity headed by Abdul Hamid Al -Duba.

The relationship between the heads of the government, Abdul Hamid Al -Duba and the Supreme Council of State Khaled Al -Mashri, is tense, after the rapprochement between him and the Speaker of Parliament Aqila Saleh and a agreement between them requires changing the executive authority and changing sovereign positions, foremost of which is the position of governor of the Central Bank, Al -Siddiq Al -Kabeer, one of the most prominent and supporters of the Dubai government..
