Today, the second anniversary of the departure of the great storyteller Saeed Al -Kafrawi, at the age of 81, passed away, as he left on November 14, 2020, after a long journey he spent in writing and creativity, in which he presented many works, although his biggest contribution to the anecdotal groups.

Saeed Al -Kafrawi was born in the village of Kafr Hijazi in Al -Mahalla Al -Kubra in 1939, he began his interest in literature early, so in the beginning of the sixties a literary club in the Al -Mahalla Al -Kubra Culture Palace with his friends, Dr. Jaber Asfour, Muhammad Al -Mansi Qandil, and God made Ibrahim and Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, Muhammad Saleh and Farid Abu Saada.

Before Al -Kafrawi knew his way to the Naguib Mahfouz Council at the Rish Café in Cairo, Al -Kafrawi was arrested in 1970, a few days before the death of President Gamal Abdel Nasser, because of a story he wrote, and after he left the detainee, he told what happened to Naguib Mahfouz, from whom he was inspired by Ismail Al -Sheikh. Saeed Al -Kafrawi started writing the short story from the 1960s, but his first anecdotal collections were published only in the 1980s, and it was one of the first groups published for him “The Beautiful City “In 1985,” Step Al -Awra “1989,” Al -Baghdadiya “2004, and” Zubaydah and Al -Mash “2015.

Al -Kafrawi did not write any of his life’s novels, and he previously stated, saying: “I liked writing the short story and considered it the best form of expressing my experience (if there was an experience). Of course, I wished to write a novel that I wanted for perfection, so I never wrote it. ”
During his literary career; Al-Kafrawi won the Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Award for the short story for his stories “Al-Baghdadiya”, and the State Appreciation Award in Arts (Egypt- 2016)..
