In her opening speech, Dr.

Rania Al -Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, affirmed that empowering women is one of the basic axes and solutions that must be worked on to face climate changes and their negative repercussions, pointing out that women are one of the most negatively affected groups of these changes, especially in rural and less fortunate areas In development efforts.

The Minister of International Cooperation indicated that Egypt, during its presidency of the COP27 climate conference over the next twelve months, will enhance efforts to empower women as one of the solutions to facing climate changes, especially in Africa and developing countries, stressing the need to focus on successful models that change the wrong mental image On women and the importance of opening the prospects for economic opportunities for girls to support them in effectively in achieving development in various societies.

She pointed out that the last decade witnessed an increasing interest in the efforts of women’s empowerment and equal opportunities between the sexes, and improving girls’ access to educational opportunities, and leading leadership positions, and yet the challenges the world faces at all levels, especially with regard to climate changes that prevent women from obtaining their full opportunity This requires sustainable solutions to adapt and in support of the role of women in facing these challenges.

She continued: Facing climatic changes and empowering women require more innovative climatic solutions, enhancing entrepreneurship, increasing financing for women -led companies and supporting entrepreneurs..
