The new sanctions imposed by the European Union entered Iran; Because of the violations of human rights and violence against the government -opposing demonstrators, after its publication in the Official Gazette of the European Union.
“We stand by the Iranian people and support their right to peaceful protest and express their demands and opinions freely,” said the European Union’s foreign and security policy official, Josep Borrell.
A press release indicated that the decision targets 29 people and three entities in light of their role in the death of Muhsa Amini and the violent response to the recent demonstrations in Iran.
The statement stated that among the persons included in the sanctions are four members of the force that arbitrarily arrested Muhsa, members of the Iranian security forces, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and the commander of the Iranian army forces.
It was also decided to ban the travel of the Minister of Interior Ahmed Wahidi and prominent members of the Passage Passage Force to the European Union and to freeze any assets they own in the European Union..
