The German State Council (Bondes) has approved an emergency aid package estimated at billions of gas consumers and central heating.
During an emergency session today, Monday, the Council of State abandoned the formation of a mediation committee to review the law approved by the Federal Parliament (Bundestag) last Friday, to approve the Council of State to do so.
This is the first step in a plan to reduce the effects of high gas prices on consumers, and the next step – setting a ceiling for the price of gas – will enter into force as of next March at the latest, yet the German government will expedite the matter to February next The government expects costs estimated at nine billion euros.
The law aims to help families as well as small and medium -sized companies in the face of high gas prices..
