The European Union pledges to provide 210 million euros as food aid to weak countries

European Commission Chairman Orzola von der Line has pledged to provide another 210 million euros (217 million dollars) to support the countries affected by food insecurity.
“The Russian war in Ukraine had a great impact on global food supplies,” von der Line said in a statement.
This announcement was preceded by the leaders of the Group of Twenty in Indonesia.
Von der Line said that there is a need to take measures to avoid starvation in some of the poorest regions of the world.

The Commission indicated that at least 205 million people were affected by acute food insecurity in 2022, more than ever.
According to a press statement, additional funding will go to 15 countries, including Afghanistan, Yemen, Venezuela and Sudan..
