The European Parliament and member states agree on the European Union’s budget for the year 2023

The Czech Deputy Minister of Finance, Ji -George, said that negotiators from the European Parliament and the governments of the European Union member states have agreed on a budget that includes obligations of more than 186 billion euros (192 billion dollars) for the next year.
Next year, the European Union wants to spend more money on the transformation of energy and deal with the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
The agreement was reached in the middle of Monday (2300 GMT).

If there was no agreement by midnight on Monday, the European Commission would have to submit a new budget project..
