The League of Arab States will organize tomorrow in Dubai, in cooperation with the partners, a high -level meeting based on Arab interest in strengthening the rights of persons with disabilities, and their full integration into society, and within the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, under the title “The Initiative of Living independently for persons with disabilities”.
Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazala, Assistant Secretary -General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector, the League of Arab States, stated that this important initiative comes within the initiative of Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, to prepare the second Arab contract for persons with disabilities (2023 – 2032), to represent that initiative A new and distinctive start to support the lives of people with disabilities independently.
In this regard, she pointed out that the high -level meeting aims in general to clarify the importance of the initiative, and through the active partnership with both the Arab Chambers Union, and Kassabo with international determination, the Investment and Technology Promotion Office for UNIDO in Bahrain, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport , The Arab Labor Organization, the Food Banks Union, as well as the partners of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (Padia), the Arab Center for Dry Regions Studies and Arriving Land (oxidation), and other partners.
Ambassador Abu Ghazaleh explained that this meeting will constitute an important opportunity to review the efforts of the League of Arab States and partners to implement this important initiative, which also allows the entry of other partners of the United Nations agencies, organizations of persons with disabilities, civil society organizations, and others, as well as the important role For the private sector, through the presence of the Arab Chambers Union, as a representative of the Arab private sector, as well as the role of the Expo Expo, the international determination exhibition, to form an international forum that supports that initiative, and highlights its importance at the international level.
