In exchange for the loan, the Tunisian government undertakes to implement a package of reforms, the most important of which is reviewing the support policy and granting it its entitlements, as well as restructuring and repairing government companies.
Earlier, Tunisian Radio Mosaique said that the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and Tunisians abroad, Othman Al -Jarndi, with the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Raenders, who is on a work visit to Tunisia.

In a communiqué published, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Al -Jarndi assured the European Commissioner “the great importance that Tunisia attaches to retrieving the looted funds and to cooperate with its partners involved in this file, in order to restore these capabilities belonging to the Tunisian people and employ them in national development efforts.


Al -Jardandi stressed the complete readiness of the Tunisian authorities to continue and intensify cooperation with the European side on this file, in order to ensure the acceleration of the course of the retrieval of these capabilities and the transcendence of the difficulties that may object.

In this regard, the European Commissioner for Justice expressed, according to the text of the communication, “his understanding of the importance of this issue, and stressed the need to cooperate with the concerned structures at the heart of the European Union and consult on the various technical aspects surrounding this file, in a way that helps to advance in the path of recovering these funds. “.

During the meeting, Al -Jardandi touched on Raenders the reform path in Tunisia, which he said aims to “consolidate the pillars of the state of law and institutions and ensure equality before justice, in a way that responds to the aspirations of the Tunisians to build a real and permanent democracy. ”
He added that this path “is being completed by organizing legislative elections on December 17.
