Kremlin: Kyiv is not ready to hold peace negotiations

Amid the endeavors behind the scenes in order to urge the Russian and Ukrainian sides to return to the negotiating table, amid Ukrainian statements rejecting, Moscow renewed the accusation of Kyiv of not wanting peace.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today, Tuesday, that the statements of Ukrainian President Foludmir Zellinski in front of the G20 summit on his refusal to conclude the “Minsk 3” agreement to end the fighting, prove that Kyiv was not interested in holding peace talks, according to the news agency “RIA Novosti”.

This comment came after a speech by Zellinski on the phone in front of the leaders of the Group of Twenty Summit held in Bali, in which he stressed that his country will not go to conclude peace -like agreements to “Minsk 1 and 2”, stressing that all Russian forces should be withdrawn from Ukrainian lands.
However, at the same time, he pointed out the necessity of the war immediately, calling on the international community to pressure Moscow.

It is noteworthy that some press reports had previously reported that the United States is pressuring the Ukrainian authorities in order to negotiate with the Kremlin, for fear that international support will diminish with the prolongation of the dispute that entered its ninth month.

However, Washington denied the matter altogether and in detail, stressing that the meeting of its intelligence manager with his Russian counterpart for the first time from February 24 in Ankara aims to send a clear message to Moscow not to use “nuclear” or a dirty bomb in any way.

The Russian -Ukrainian negotiations stopped last March, after several technical rounds that led to the evacuation of some civilians from the villages, or a limited exchange of prisoners, without any progress mentioned at the political or war level..
