France: Iran has chosen the wrong path and will be held accountable for its actions

The arrest of additional citizens in Iran was described by the French Foreign Ministry as “provocative work” on Sunday. The ministry added that Iran had made the wrong decision and would be held responsible for its actions.
Seven French nationals are currently being held in Iranian prisons, according to the foreign minister of France, Catherine Colonna, who told the newspaper “Le Parisien” on Saturday that two more French nationals had been detained there.

We were worried about other citizens, and it seems that the most recent verification operations also resulted in detentions, according to Colona.
“Reminding Iran of its obligations under international law is more crucial than ever. It won’t be able to extort money if that is its intention. Dealing with France in this manner is improper, she continued.
“We are requesting that they be released right away and given access to consular protection.

After a protracted and challenging conversation, my Iranian counterpart promised to uphold this right. I believe that will happen.
Friba Adjah, a French-Iranian researcher who has been imprisoned since June 2019, and Benjaman Brierr, a spy who was arrested in May 2020 and sentenced to eight years in prison last May, are two of the seven prisoners. Friba Adjah was sentenced to five years in prison for violating national security.

This comes as Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani condemned the French President Emmanuel Macron’s meeting with a number of individuals he deemed to be “hostile to Iran” on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum, according to a report by Iran News Agency (IRNA) published today, Sunday. It will remain engraved in the memory of the Iranian people.

“Qanaani said,” It is surprising that the President of the Republic of Balad is freedom, reduces his level to the point where he meets a pariah personality that made herself the difficulty in the hands of others and expanded in recent months behind the practise of terrorist acts against Iranian diplomats and diplomatic missions abroad as well as within Iran, spreading hatred and inciting violence.

Iran has made a mistake, and it will be held accountable for its deeds, says France.
