Al-Madinah News:- The European Union’s Supreme Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security, Josep Borrell, announced that the Union’s foreign ministers agreed to continue efforts to “isolate” Russia in the international arena.
“We will continue to isolate Russia in the international arena and we will continue to impose restrictions on the Russian economy,” Borrell said at a press conference at the conclusion of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Union countries in Brussels on Monday.
He continued: “We are ready to tighten restrictions and impose sanctions against third countries that provide Russia with weapons and provide military support to them, that is, Iran and Belarus. ”
The newspaper “Politico” had reported earlier that the foreign ministers of the European Union countries started discussing a new strategy towards Russia, to replace the previous strategy that was approved in 2016.
According to the newspaper, the discussions may take several weeks or months.
