Amazon intends to lay off 10,000 employees

The New York Times reported today, Monday, quoting informed sources, that Amazon. com is planning to lay off about 10,000 employees in administrative and technological jobs starting this week.
The newspaper report indicated that the job cuts will focus on the unit of devices belonging to the electronic commerce giant, which includes the audio assistant Alexa, in addition to the retail and human resources department.
The newspaper report added that the total number of layoffs is still changing.

The unit of Alexa recorded an operational loss in excess of five billion dollars annually, with Amazon thinking whether it should focus on adding new potentials when customers use the device in only a few jobs.
The company has not yet answered a request from Reuters to comment.
The New York Times reported that the workers that the company will expose represented about 3% of its employees.

This news comes just weeks after Amazon warns of slowing growth in the busy holiday season when it achieved the highest sales, saying that high prices limit consumer and companies, which reduces spending. Amazon is the latest American company to make significant discounts at the base of its employees to prepare for a possible economic decline.

The Mita Platfarzm, the parent company of Facebook, said last week that it would cancel more than 11 thousand jobs, or 13% of its working power, to reduce costs. Other companies include Twitter, owned by Elon Musk, Microsoft and Snap.

The slowdown in economic growth and the high cost of employment and transportation led to the obstruction of companies that had used a large number of workforce during the Korona pandemic when the demand for e -commerce, and other services via the Internet increased.
Now, as consumers’ demand for high prices and borrowing costs, many are considering lowering jobs.

The shares of Amazon, who lost about 40% of their value so far this year, reduced the losses for a short period, and its last circulation was 2%..
