Today, Mr. Al -Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, met with Thomas Filsk, Minister of Agriculture in the United States of America, and discussed with him the prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in the various agricultural fields.
“Al -Qusayr” welcomed his American counterpart and praised the historical relations between the two countries and the large presence of the American side at the presidential and ministerial level in Sharm El -Sheikh and the support provided by the American side of the Fast Agriculture Initiative, which was launched yesterday at the summit.
For his part, the American minister praised Egypt’s success in the wonderful organization of the climate summit and stressed that the United States of America pays great attention to the Arab Republic of Egypt and wants to strengthen cooperation relations with it.
The two ministers discussed the benefit of American experience in the field of agricultural cooperatives and in raising its efficiency small farmers and owners of small holdings.
They also discussed the necessity of integrating the initiatives previously launched, especially the FST initiative, which focuses on stimulating and mobilizing funding in order to support diets and agricultural systems, and from here comes the importance of interdependence and integration.
The meeting also dealt with the importance of facilitating the procedures for exporting citrus and mangoes to the American market while continuing to discuss the position of taking advantage of American seeds.
At the end of the meeting, the two ministers agreed to form a technical committee to remove any obstacles to strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of exchanging agricultural goods and meat.
