Capitol attack .. Trump hinders his appearance in front of the investigators

News from Al-Madinah: Donald Trump, a former US president, filed a lawsuit on Friday to contest a summons he received from the House of Representatives Committee, which was looking into the seizure of the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
According to France Press, Trump claims that he has “absolute immunity” and will not testify next week, while his attorneys call the summons “invalid, illegal, and undesirable.”

They see that the former president still has a privilege after about 22 months for his departure from his position and the Congress cannot force him to appear in front of the committee.
The January 6 Committee demanded that Trump appear before it to personally testify by the two and discuss a number of correspondences and documents.

The challenges are great while the time is running out for the 76 -year -old congressional committee, who is expected to announce on Tuesday that he will run for the presidency in 2024.
While the Republican Party has not formally declared that it will take back control of the House of Representatives following the midterm elections, he will nonetheless do this.

The January 6 committee, which gathered evidence to support the claim that Trump incited his supporters to lead the attack on the Capitol in an effort to prevent Joe Biden from winning the presidential elections, would likely be resolved if Republicans gained control of the House of Representatives.

Prosecutors accused more than 900 people of crimes related to storming the Capitol building, and the Ministry of Justice said last month that 412 of them confessed to guilt on one of the various federal charges.
The attack on January 6 resulted in at least 7 fatalities.

Trump noted that the United States, in the past and in the present, have voluntarily agreed to testify or hand over documents after receiving a summons from Congress, but “none of them were forced to do so” during his trial before a federal court in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In this instance, Trump feels that the committee lacks authority because the summons matter violates both the executive concession and his personal rights.
