The funds will also be used to outfit the ground stations with a new kind of antenna created by “Apple” in addition to being used to buy satellites.
In September, Apple announced that its users can be available to send text messages to emergency services, by satellite, known as “SOS”, as a remarkable feature in the new iPhone 14 phones, which it announced two months ago.

And if users are outside the scope of a cell tower, as in a remote area during camping, they can still contact emergency services, by directing their phones to the sky, and calling one of 24 industrial moon belonging to the company “Global Star”, which is located in a low ground orbit .
Later this month, the service will be made available by updating a new iPhone model.

The feature is free for two years, but it is likely to be a material subscription after that period, and it requires communication centers equipped with human employees, as more than 300 employees in “Global Star” will work on the service.
