The rest of the time is 10 days to deliver the outputs of the work selection competition for Egypt at the Venice International Biennial for Architecture, in its 18th session entitled The Laboratory of the Future or the Future Laboratory.
The jury for the competition is presided over by Dr. and is made up of a group of academics and professionals who teach architecture and decoration during this session.
Dalila Al-Kurdani is an engineering professor at Cairo University’s faculty of architecture and urban design. Ibtisam Farid, Professor of Architecture and Dean of the Faculty of Design and Information- Coventry University, Anasi Abu Seif, designer of the decoration and cinematic scenery, Dr.
Engineer Muhammad Al-Sayed Abu Saada, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Civilization Coordination, Professor Ayman Hassan, Head of the Architecture Department at the College of Engineering at Cairo University, Sawsan Murad Ezz Al-Arab, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Bayt Magazine, and Al-Ahram newspaper.
It has been decided to invite the architects, and the work teams “include various specialisations and headed by an architect” For an open competition to choose the work representing the country, based on the Ministry of Culture’s interest in positive participation in the next session and believing in activating its role in caring for and supporting distinguished architectural works. The exhibition will be held in its eighteenth session from May 20 to the twenty-sixth of November 2023.
It is noteworthy that Egypt was one of the first nations to take part in Benali Venice for architecture as well as the general Venice Biennales.
