Strong voter turnout seen across the Fox Valley

WISCONSIN, GRAND CHUTE (WBAY) – It’s finally time for the voters to be heard after months of political advertisements and pitches from the candidates themselves.
Voters turn out for the midterm elections every year, but with close, important races in Wisconsin, a high turnout was anticipated.
Eight polling places needed new ballots, and three needed additional voter registration forms, according to Green Bay’s city clerk. “I ordered about 37,000 ballots.

The quick turnout is so great that I just purchased some more! We had roughly 10,000 votes at 10:00, so I predict we’ll pass with 25,000 to 35,000 votes cast, according to City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys.
Over 10,000 absentee ballots were returned, according to Jeffreys, exceeding the pre-pandemic 2018 midterm results. “The question to me is whether or not it’s going to be as high as a presidential (election),” Jeffreys said.

While there were longer lines at some polling places than others, they were not too long in the Fox Valley.
The longest lines we saw were in Grand Chute, but polling places have been busy all day from Oshkosh to Appleton with steady streams of voters casting their ballots. One voter told us finding a place to park was a challenge and she probably waited about 15 minutes in line, but it was a wait she was encouraged by.
“I’m thrilled that there are so many people here.

Absolutely lovely to see is this. People must speak out, and it is encouraging to see that everyone is doing so today, according to Linda Marshall.
It is the exercise of a right. We are a nation that constantly considers the First and Second Amendments, but the right to vote is significant and crucial, according to Lance Shellman of Appleton.
Other than one polling place in the Fox Valley running out of popular “I Voted” stickers, there haven’t been any problems reported there.

That was promptly fixed.

Voter turnout was high throughout the Fox Valley.
